Support to Youth Organisations

Each year, Freemasonry provides support to a wide variety of youth organisations and charities. Previous grants have seen £500,000 donated to provide start-up funds for new Scout Association units across the country. Donations have been made at District level and individual unit level to the Air Cadets, Sea Cadets, Scouts and Girl Guides.

Individual Lodges also support local units such as that provided by Templars Lodge No. 4302, and Templars Chapter No. 4302, who settled on the St. Pancras Girl Guides and the 8th Holborn Scouts. On 23rd March 2015, Jane Palmer, the Divisional Commander of the St. Pancras Girl Guides, was presented with a cheque for £500 from Templars Lodge whilst E. Comp John Webber IPZ presented a cheque in the same amount to Julian Fulbrook, the Leader of the 8th Holborn Scouts.

Both donations will be used by the groups to subsidise children who otherwise might not be able to go on trips as they come from deprived backgrounds. This, the Lodge and Chapter hope, will be the start of an ongoing relationship with those organisations and although we might not be able to donate £1000 every single year, we will donate as much as possible to assist those children who need it the most.
